The key value proposition for the C2Legacy service is to safely distribute the cryptocurrency assets to your loved ones after you pass. This is achieved by a fairly strait forward sequence of events.
Death event Use Case/ User experience:
One Benefactor makes claim
Third party verification of death by public interface integration (TBD)
If verified a smart contract moves Will Main record moves to executed status
All benefactors are notified (will see status change upon next client login)
Unlock secure meta data access to each benefactor as appropriate (executed by Smart contract)
Disable Will Main account and archive (executed by Smart contract)
Identity Management

Identity Management
Identity management is a term that refers broadly to the administration of individual identities within a system, such as a company, a network or even a country. The blockchain offers the promise of a trusted record that can reduce fraud. Some industry experts say that over the coming years, it could be used to control identity information in a more secure fashion.
C2Legacy will use Tierion to anchor data to the blockchain to prove the integrity and timestamp of any data, file, or process. Tierion is an Ethereum based platform which they will use for its immutable records and secure customer data features.
Identity Management on the Blockchain not only ensures that no middle man acts as the verifier of truth but that all parties have this access same access. It also allows for global identity management that is decentralized. C2Legacy will be able to use identifying instruments such as Passports and US based IDs and other Centralized government forms of identification. C2Legacy will also support World Citizenship IDs from platforms like BitNation, which created Decentralized Borderless Voluntary Nations (DBVN) and through its Proof of Concept open source movement.
C2Legacy will allow legacy holders to identify themselves with and will store on the Blockchain, one (1) of the following tokenized and encrypted identifiers:
Public Key
BitNation World Citizenship ID
Email Address
Digitally, verified electronic signature
And two (2) of the following supporting identifiers:
Centralized Government ID (last 4 digits)
Fingerprint
Phone Number
2FA credentials
Civic ID
C2Legacy will provide verification of death, globally. There are other competitors in this space who use an elapsed period of inactivity to “signify” death of the legacy holder but this is problematic and may cause someone’s assets to be transferred in error. Competitive applications use interaction with the legacy owner in periodic intervals to signify life, or death if no activity is detected past a predefined time. The time period is set by the legacy holder. The legacy holder is presumed to have expired if no response is received during this predetermined time period. Some use this “heartbeat” check as one of the utility costs to use their “Will” based platform. Using an elapsed period of inactivity is problematic and may cause someone’s assets to be transferred in error.
C2Legacy is the first Will-based platform that will securely and accurately validate the death of the legacy holder using global, digital and decentralized Death Certificates or digital US-based Death Certificates. C2Legacy will use Technology, pioneered by BitNation and their validation and verification of Blockchain-based Marriage Certificates. Building upon this innovation, C2Legacy will create Blockchain-based Death Certificates that can be validated globally and not controlled by any one nation but by validation and acceptance by Autonomous Communities and DBVN’s.
C2Legacy will use BitNations Pangea Technology to integrate with the Pangea API’s to extend the capabilities of the Smart Love framework to design, build and create the Smart Death APIs and Smart Death Framework. C2Legacy will enable the first Blockchain-based Death when their first legacy holder passes on.
Verifying Death
C2Legacy will use Tierion’s Blockchain Verified Data platform via their HashAPI to store the ‘Proof of
Death artifacts. Accepted artifacts will be:
Death Certificates
Coroners Reports
Obituary from verified and authorized News sources
Governmental documentation of Death, ex: Social Security Administration for US, etc
Sworn and notarized statements from law officials, estate management professionals, power of attorney, executor, probate court, etc
These artifacts will be hashed and the hash value (deathProofDocHash) will be used as input to their Smart Death Framework to enable processing of the Blockchain-based Smart Death event. The C2Legacy Smart Death Framework will use the Ethereum platform and Smart Contracts (Solidity) to create a smart contract for Death:

These artifacts will be hashed and the hash value (deathProofDocHash) will be used as input to their Smart Death Framework to enable processing of the Blockchain-based Smart Death event. The C2Legacy Smart Death Framework will use the Ethereum platform and Smart Contracts (Solidity) to create a smart contract for Death:
Smart Death Contract Code Snippet
C2Legacy will provide a portal for beneficiaries, coroners, estate owners, attorney’s to securely upload their documents for the Smart Death verification on the blockchain. Once documents are uploaded, the Smart Death Framework will create the Smart Death contract which will process the death event and start the process of transferring the C2Legacy owner’s legacy. This death event is what initiates the process of Smart Death and legacy estate transfer.
Smart Death API
The C2Legacy Smart Death API will be called by the C2L DAEM Platform to setup the stages that initiate the distribution of funds to beneficiaries of the C2LO estate. The API will record on the blockchain timestamps for each stage and verify and validate the death artifacts. The Smart Death API will allow the death event to have a decentralized digital timestamp on the blockchain. The Death artifacts will be uploaded into the Platform, if they are already in soft copy format. Acceptable file formats will be PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG or TIFF. If the user only has a physical, hard copy of the death artifacts, they can use their Android/IOS phone app to capture images of the documents or visit the C2Legacy Soft Services Offices to have the artifacts digitized.
Once the death artifacts are loaded onto their Platform, they are validated and verified for authenticity. The entity that uploads the documents into their platform must digitally sign that the document they uploaded are true, valid and authentic. If a C2Legacy Soft Services Office is used, they will also digitally sign, verifying the validity and authenticity of the artifacts. Once the artifacts are validated and verified, they are then hashed using the Tierion Hash API and the hash of the artifacts are stored on the Blockchain. The uploaded soft copies are then stored using Storj so that the artifacts are stored in a decentralized manner. Once the artifacts are documented in their platform, a death event timestamp is created using the Tierion APIs and the Death Event is stored on the blockchain such that it is immutable.
